1st January 2017 (Sunday)

My Dear Blog,

Happy New Year 2017. Today morning my friend's labrador woke me up from sleep around 8 a.m. Today morning I didn't watch Rangoli on Doordarshan. Instead I played with the dog for half an hour. Very friendly dog! Last night he was kept on the second floor while we partied on the third floor. In his heart he must have wanted to join in the house party. Poor baby!

Since I was still in Salt Lake therefore I kept thinking about my first girlfriend. On 1st January 2003 we had met in front of RKM Library at Golpark. Then we went to have coffee at a coffee-shop named Caffeine opposite the library. That coffee-shop no longer exists anymore. Neither does our relationship. Anyways after having coffee we went to Rabindra Sarobar Lake and spent the entire winter afternoon there. In the evening I came with her to Salt Lake to drop her home. Today morning in my mind I kept going back to 1st January 2003.

Bolo Toh Bolo Naa Bolo Zara
Hota Hai Kya Pyaar Bolo
Bolo Toh Bolo Naa Bolo Zara
Kyon Hoon Beqaraar Bolo
Kabhi Kabhi Baithey Baithey
Kyon Kisi Ki Yaad Aaa Jaati Hai
Ho Raha Hai Aab Mujhko Jaisa
Kuch Zara Sa Tumko Bhi Waisa
Ho Raha Hai Kya...

Every year on 1st January I listen to the songs of Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai. I have been following this ritual since the year 2000. Today morning I listened to the Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai songs on my phone. On 1st January 2000 I had bought the audio cassette of Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai from Golpark Melody. In those days I used to listen to it day in and day out. My most favourite actor is Hrithik Roshan and I love him more than the three Khans combined together.

Yeh Madhoshiyaan Yeh Tanhaiyaan
Tasabur Mein Hai Kiski Parchhaiyaan
Yeh Bhiga Samaan Umangein Jawaan
Mujhe Ishq Le Ja Raha Hai Kahaan
Kyon Ghum Hai Har Disha
Kyon Hota Hai Nasha
Kyon Aata Hai Mazaa
Na Tum Jano Na Hum...

Dhadakta Bhi Hai Tadapta Bhi Hai
Yeh Dil Kyon Achanak Bahakta Bhi Hai
Mahakta Bhi Hai
Chahakta Bhi Hai
Yeh Dil Kya Wafa Ko Samajhta Bhi Hai
Kyon Milti Hain Nazar
Kyon Hota Hai Asar
Kyon Hoti Hai Sahar
Na Tum Jano Na Hum...

Anyways around 9 a.m. my friend woke up. We had tea together. Had a lovely morning adda with him. Ate last night's leftover food. I left his house around 11 a.m. and went to RCTC. Since 2004 I have been going to RCTC on 1st January every year. Its like a ritual which I try to follow religiously. I may have missed going there only a few times in between.

The race course was packed to capacity. Everybody was totally decked up. Saw a lot of beautiful women there. Some of them were really ravishing and absolutely awesome. I was wearing a sun-glass therefore I could easily and shamelessly check out all the gorgeous women all around without getting caught in the act. I drank a can of Heineken beer there. I kept on losing money till the 5th race but then won three back to back tanalas on the 6th, 7th and 8th races. Made a nice little profit for the day. I couldn't bet on the 9th and 10th race because the betting counters were really damn crowded. I love betting on horses. There are elements of risk, thrill and excitement involved in the whole process. Nothing can be compared to the moment when the horses are running neck to neck in full speed and reaching the finishing line. And I firmly believe that spending my hard-earned money on horses is far better than wasting it on women! After the races got over, some of us got together and danced to the beats of the female DJ. She was pretty cute too. I came back home around 7 p.m. Had my dinner and immediately went to sleep.

Looking forward to an amazing 2017. I want to get married this year. Hopefully I will find my Soulmate this year. If any woman reading this is interested in marrying me or is secretly in love with me from the deepest parts of her heart then please email me or message me in my Facebook inbox. Marriages are made in Heaven and/or Facebook. Lets see what the Heavens/Facebook have in store for me. By the way, Divorcees and Widows are also applicable!

And hopefully this year my first girlfriend will come back in my life again as a friend. Just normal friendship. No hanky panky. She is now married to someone else and has given birth to a cute little baby boy just a few months back. I wish them all the happiness of this Universe. I want them to be the happiest family in the whole Universe. I really believe that ex-lovers could remain good friends too if both of them are really matured. Well, I am very matured and I hope that she is also up to the mark on the maturity scale. Keeping my fingers crossed. Shona, I am very sorry for whatever happened between us. You have punished me enough by avoiding me for the last thirteen years since our break-up. Now its time to come back in my life again as a friend. Looking forward to your return back in my life this year.

Ab Naam Mohabbat Ke
Iljaam Toh Aaya Hai
Tum Jo Bhi Saaja De Do
Sar Humne Jhukaaya Hai
Tumne Hi Hansi Di Thi
Tumne Hi Rulaaya Hai
Kya Pyaar Mein Socha Tha
Kya Pyaar Mein Paaya Hai...

Good Night,
With Love, Kisses, Moonbeams and Rainbows,
Raj Gaurav Debnath
